The Launching Event of “ALLED II” 

The Launching Event of “ALLED II” – “Aligning Education and Training with Labour Market Needs” Project, on Monday, the 27th of May 2019 in Hotel EMERALD in Pristina.

Built on the achieved results of ALLED I Program, along with lessons learnt “Aligning Education and Training with Labour Market Needs” – ALLED II Project is jointly founded by the European Commission and Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and is implemented by Austrian Development Agency (ADA) as an Operational Unit of ADC.

“Aligning Education and Training with Labour Market Needs” – ALLED II Project aims to reduce poverty through increased labour market participation and improved employability of the population in Kosovo. Its core objective is to support the legislative framework and mechanisms in order to strengthen the quality and relevance of Education and Training programmes and their contribution to sustainable growth and development.

On the 27th of May 2019 ALLED II organized the Launching Event of the programme, gathering all of its stakeholders and partners. The event had an overall audience of 180 guests, including Ambassador level guests, namely, Her Excellency Ms. Nataliya Apostolova, EU Ambassador in Kosovo, His Excellency Mr. Gernot Pfandler, Austrian Ambassador in Kosovo, as well as Government of Kosovo Ministers such as: Mr. Shyqiri Bytyqi, Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Skender Reçica, Minister of Work and Social Welfare, Mr. Besim Beqaj, Minister of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Mr. Valdrin Lluka, Minister of Economic Development, as well as a number of representatives from the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo, University Rectors, Directors of Municipal Education Departments and School representatives and Education Experts.

Given its importance and the large interest of the audience for the project in question, the event additionally contained a Questions and Answers session with a panel consisting of Ambassadors, Ministers and ALLED II Project Team Leader, who have answered the questions in their respective capacities.

Media wise, the event in question was covered by two (2) major Kosovar TV channels and eight major online news portals.
